Each year, Musical Theater Wichita hosts "The Jester Awards", the equivalent of The Tony Awards for KS High School Musical Theater.
This year "Beauty and the Beast" earned 15 Regional nods! This is over double what we received last year for Seussical. Out of those 15, FIVE were selected for State Finalists!
I cannot express enough how HARD of a judging pool and process this is. Our school is pitted against every other program in the state, regardless of school size or budget. I'm so proud of the work the students put in to create such a wonderful production. Each show is also limited to only 2 nominations per category...we had so many others not listed receive great feedback and comments from the judges.
The Awards Ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 4th at Century II in Wichita. Please congratulate these students when you see them!
